The Vineyards:

The oldest winery in Shasta County.

Matson vineyards is a small family-operated winery located just east of Redding, California. Our original vineyard was planted in 1981, and the winery was officially established in 1984.

Community participation has always been our tradition, and the biggest event of the year for our winery has been a harvest feast to thank our wonderful friends who have helped us maintain our sanity (to the extent it still exists) during our often chaotic crush.

At Matson Vineyard's sister vineyard, "Wisteria Vineyards", located in Innwood, California, Roger and Keiko completed planting 800 vines (Cab and Viognier) in 2005. We just harvested our first Cabernet Sauvignon. We look forward to the latest addition to the Matson family of wines borne from the rich volcanic soil under the watchful gaze of Mount Lassen.
