The Winery:  
 

The Tehama Oaks Vineyard and Winery was bonded as the first Red Bluff based winery in May 2010.  We encourage you to take a five minute drive out Hwy 36 West to taste our wines.  We are a family owned corporation dedicated to producing high quality estate wines from our own small vineyards and superb varietal wines and blends from premium Northern California vineyards.  At Tehama Oaks we use modern equipment to handcraft limited production wines in an old world style.  

September 2010 marked the first commercial harvest of our vineyards and our first commercial crush of quality grapes from selected vineyards across Northern California.

2010 Viognier SOLD OUT - 2011 will be available in April

A lively yet light white wine with flavors reminiscent of ripe apricots, fresh pineapple, and tropical fruits.

A light white wine with subtle floral overtones, flavors of fresh picked pears with just a hint of minerality.

An elegant white dinner wine blend, exhibiting a sophisticated structure and tropical island fruit flavors reflective of the partner wines - Viognier, Roussanne, and French Colombard.

2010 Syrah

Our 2010 Syrah is a blend of wines produced from grapes grown in our Red Bluff vineyards and Digger Creek Vineyard.  Truly a Tehama County Syrah!  Aged over a year in French Oak, our 2010 Syrah is smooth, soft on the palate, reminiscent of ripe blackberries, and black currants.

2010 Petite Sirah (Estate Produced)

Our 2010 Petite Sirah was made from grapes grown in our own vineyards in Red Bluff.  A robust red wine with bold tannins, dense blackberry and rich oak flavors.  Aged for 15 months in new French oak.

2010 Tehamador Red

Tehamador Red is a sophisticated red dinner wine crafted from a blend of premier Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Primativo grapes grown in Amador and Tehama counties.  Well structured with a medley of ripe fruit and berry flavors.

The Winemaker:  Our winemaker, Bob Douglas, developed a lifelong interest in wines and winemaking as a beginning science teacher at Napa High School in 1966.  In the mid-1990's he began making wine at home and after taking some winemaking and viticulture classes, the family decided to plant two small vineyards on their property in Red Bluff in 2008.  Later that year, Bob Douglas retired after 10 years as Tehama County Superintendent of Schools, culminating a 42 year career in California public education, in order to pursue his passion for viticulture and winemaking.

Awards: 

2010 Tehama Oaks Viognier wins a gold medal at the 2012 Florida State Fair International Wine and Grape Juice Competition.  Eight wineries, including 4 from California were involved in the commercial Viognier competition.  Tehama Oaks Viognier was the only gold medal.
