The Winery:
One
Maple Winery is located in the small rural
community of Lewiston approximately 35 miles
west of Redding, just 1¼ mile off SR 299.
This is a beautiful, winding drive through
the local coastal hills to the southern most
end of Trinity Lake. The winery is one
of the few that offers tastings at the
winery daily. Bordered
by Grass Valley Creek, the tasting room has
outside seating, beautiful gardens and
walking paths leading to a gazebo park area
on the creek.
Events are held often featuring live
bands and other entertainment.
Their annual Anniversary Party, held
the first part of July, and the annual One
Maple Crush, held at harvest time, are two
events you don’t want to miss.
More information about events are
posted on their website

The Vineyards:
The 12-acre estate vineyard is
planted to Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet
Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris
and Tempranillo. The cool air off the
lake allows the estate to grow grapes
like Pinot Noir that don't do as well in
the warmer, surrounding region.

Ernie Bell

|
|
| The
Winemaker:
The
winery owners, Ernie and Kristel Bell, planted their
vines in 1996 and began producing their wines in
2004. They
attended enology classes in UC Davis and focus their
efforts on creating wines that compliment the
intense fruit flavors of their Trinity Lakes
Appellation vineyards.
|
|
The Wines:
The Bells produce a wide range of wines,
representing warmer and cooler region
grapes; a testament to the diversity of
this growing region..
