The Winery: Located west
of Highway 5 between Red Bluff and
Redding, the winery has its roots in a
cooperative effort by neighbors Tom and
Joy Burnham and Deanna and Jim Tomasini.
What started as a hobby has turned into a
boutique sized commercial winery in the
year 2000. They started out producing only
between 200 and 350 cases per year and
sold out quickly and continue to grow,
producing 1700 cases from the 2005
vintage.
|
The Vineyards: The
seven acre vineyard is located at the
700 foot elevation making it warmer than
the area around Manton or
Shingletown.for these reasons the
decision was made to plant the warmer
variety grapes Zinfandel, Merlot and
Petite Sirah. They also have a fair
representation of Cabernet Sauvignon
vines.
|
|
The Wines: The winery
produces five estate bottled red varietal
wines from the vineyards discussed above
as well as a red wine blend, Tehama Red.
All but the blend are aged for two years
in French and American oak barrels prior
to bottling for added complexity and
depth.

The Partners:
Jim and Deanna
Tomasini Tom and Joy Burnham and have been friends and neighbors
for years. Way before they started growing
grapes and making wine. Of course, this
being just a hobby, each year they planted
just a few plants of different varieties
until 2000. That's when they decided they
had enough acreage to apply for and become
a bonded winery. For years they called
their wine Burnsini, being a combination
of their last names.
