The Winery: This is a
very small vineyard and winery located
just off the Highway 299 East. The winery
offers tasting by appointment only. We also sell
our wines at the Farmer’s Market in
Redding every Saturday spring through
fall. This is one of the oldest wineries
in the region; the third bonded in Shasta
County.
|
The Vineyards: There
are currently three producing acres of
Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Grigio,
Merlot and Riesling vineyards. At 2300
feet in elevation, the area enjoys warm
days and cool evenings so common in the
foothill regions of California. Another
two acres of vineyards are planned,
bringing the total vineyard to five
acres.

| The
Winemaker: Allan Griggs has had a long term
love affair with winemaking that started over three
decades ago in Lake County. At that time he had no
grapes of his own, but would use left over fruit
from local vineyards to make wine. Not only is he an
active winemaker, he has been instrumental in the
formation of the Shasta Cascade Viticulture
Association with Bob Hooper of Intermountain
Vineyard and Winery. |
