The Winery:
Their first year as a bonded winery was
in Manton in 2004.
Located on the same road as Alger
Vineyards, the winery is also found in
the same beautiful volcanic valley
surrounded on three sides by volcanic
cones. There is currently no tasting
room at the winery, but appointments can
be made for a tour and wine tasting.
|
The Vineyards: They
planted the first vineyard in 2000 on
six acres of their 10-acre property now
in Manton called Indian Peak Vineyards.
The first vineyards were planted in the
well-drained volcanic soils. The 2200 foot
elevation comes with a cooling influence
from the altitude of the vineyards that
helps increase hang time. They
currently grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc and hope to
soon offer three varietals for sale at the
winery as they experiment with the
location.

|
The Wines:
The wines of Indian Peak are mostly Bordeaux
in style with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and
Sauvignon Blanc. The wonderful grape hang
times allowed by the cooling influences make
for wines with a nice complexity and deeper
fruit flavors.
